The ingrained nature of ESF is extraverted Sensing, with which they are always scanning the external world for new sensations and experiences. Due to this they can be present at the moment and are always ready to take advantage of any opportunities that may present itself.
The associative function of ESF is introverted feeling, which helps the ESF maintain an internal model of ethics and expectations. ESF can use this to pick the right behaviour to mingle with people. Using this, they can quickly gauge whether a situation is beneficial to them or not. Combined with ingrained Se which can take advantage of opportunities, they are generally good with people and tend to be popular.

ESF’s exploratory is made up of extraverted thinking. This makes them seek out external activity and may grow restless if they don’t find any suitable activity. However, since this is their exploratory, they may not treat all activities similarly, and will probably pick and choose what is more rewarding. Although they are open to trying out any activity, they are likely to be on guard while trying out things outside their domain of expertise.
The regulatory function of ESF is introverted Intuition, which guides the other functions to fulfill their potential. It also points out the shortcomings, when things don’t go as expected, but without any indication of why things are not working out. This can create issues for ESF, as along with the exploratory Te they might act out desperately under duress. Combined with Fi, regulatory Ni can guide them to better serve the people to feel harmony and connection.
