The ingrained nature of EST is extraverted Sensing, with which they are always scanning the external world for new sensations and experiences. Due to this they can be present at the moment and are always ready to take advantage of any opportunities that may present itself.

The associative function of EST is introverted thinking, using which they can create models of the world around to figure out what is interesting and what is not. They can use this to filter the ingrained Se to figure out what and what is not important at that moment, as Se on its own can get lost in irrelevant amusements. They can come up with right words and their words generally have a cutting edge, thanks to the associative Ti.

Their exploratory is made up of extraverted feeling, which relishes in people to people contact. They use this to generally to mingle with people, although they are wary of giving too much and tend to be watchful when around with people. They like to stay on the good side but are not averse to taking risks. In combination with the ingrained Se and associative Ti, they possess the knack of maneuvering people to where they want them to be.

The regulatory function of EST is introverted Intuition, which guides the other functions to fulfill their potential. It also points out the shortcomings, when things don’t go as expected, but without any indication of why things are not working out. This can create issues for EST, as along with the exploratory Fe and associative Ti they might lash out at people under duress.
